On Tuesday April 23, 2019 Jennie Tetreau passed away at the age of 88. Our condolences go out to her children, Glen and Denise and all family members.
Jennie was a founding member of Grande Prairie Live Theatre in 1963. We have lost a wonderful person, a great lady, and a creative soul. GPLT’s top volunteer award is named after Jennie. For over 60+ years, Jennie directed, acted, sat for many years on the GPLT Board and worked behind the scenes. She made real contributions to over 120 productions. Her calm guidance and strong resolve to do the right thing at all times kept GPLT moving forward. We have lost a true friend and mentor.

The Celebration of Jennie’s life will be held at St. Paul’s United Church on Monday April 29, 2019 at 1 pm. Fellowship to follow at the Golden Age Centre. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Here is a pic of Jennie acting on the GPLT stage in the 2013 production of Calendar Girls. In this scene she is acting “High and Mighty”. In real life Jennie was the exact opposite. Calendar Girls set the then record for the highest attendance for a GPLT non-musical. Jennie continued as an active volunteer at GPLT until her passing.
