GPLT Volunteer Awards Nomination Deadline June 30, 2019

June 30 is the deadline to nominate a deserving GPLT Volunteer for one of our three awards. Download the nomination form with a full description of the award criteria.
56th Season (2018-19) GRANDE PRAIRIE LIVE THEATRE Awards and Nomination form
Submit nominations in confidence to manager@gplt.ab.ca or to drop off nominations at the GPLT Box Office. The successful award recipients are chosen by the GPLT Board. All nominations are kept confidential.
Awards will be presented at the GPLT AGM on September 8, 2019 at 2 pm.
The awards are:
THE JENNIE TETREAU AWARD for consistent long-term contribution.
THE SHORT BUT SWEET AWARD for consistent short term contribution by a person age 18 or over.
THE RISING STAR AWARD for consistent short term contribution by a person less than 18 years of age.

Thursday May 16 @ 8 am to 2 pm, Temporary shutdown of GPLT Ticketing System

All GPLT ticketing including Bear Creek Folk Festival and North Country Fair Sales will be shutdown from 8 am to 2 pm Thursday May 16. We will be upgrading our ticket system during this time. This shutdown includes online, in person and telephone sales.

Directing a Musical Workshop June 1 @9 am-3:30 pm

GPLT is hosting a Directing a Musical workshop from 9 to 3:30 pm on Saturday June 1. It is FREE and we provide snacks and a free lunch.

The workshop leader is fantastic.

Linette J. Smith is the artistic director of the award winning Scona Theatre Co. and Scona Alumni Theatre Co. As well as teaching at Scona, Smith is a freelance director/choreographer in Edmonton. With a Masters in Theatre Education, Smith lives for dance, physical theatre and improvisation and has trained with the Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC, Laban in the UK and Rapid Fire Theatre in Edmonton. Select credits include: direction and choreography for Xanadu, Heathers, Dogfight, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, American Idiot, RENT (Edmonton Fringe) directing the Canadian premier of Calvin Berger (three form theatre), choreography for Miss Saigon, Le Cage aux Folles, Into the Woods ( TOWTTB) Direction for Nevermore, In the Heights, Les Miserables, Bring It On, West Side Story (Scona Theatre Co.) Rocky Horror, Jane Eyre, Avenue Q, Chicago (TOWTTB). and the Edmonton premier of Lizzie: the musical.
