Audition Information
Auditions: Sunday, September 22 @ 6:30-8:30 pm and Monday, September 23 @ 6:30-8:30 pm.

This play has seven characters:
Lucy (the fiancée) – A Black Woman, late 20s to early 30s – An actress
with a fantastic Josephine Baker cabaret act who has a really
hard time saying,’no’.
Rose (the older sister) – A Black Woman, late 20s to early 30s – A factory worker
and Lucy’s loyal sister.
Dick – (fiancé) – 20s to 30s – A remarkably good-looking soldier returning from the war.
Manny – (fiancé) – 20s to 30s – A meticulous soldier returning from the war,
to his job as a department store manager.
Chester – 40s – A door-to-door salesman who has seen better days,
Clark – (fiancé) – 30s – An impressive captain returning from the war. Thirties.
Ms. Crotch – 50s – The new landlady, a powerhouse.

To prepare for this audition:
You will be asked to sign your agreement to follow the GPLT Safety and Inclusion Policy and the GPLT Violence, Harassment Reporting and Resolution Procedures 2024.

Please read the script before you come to the audition
You cannot prepare for this audition in advance.
You will be asked for an impromptu reading choosing from several short passages from random sources not related to this play. You cannot prepare for this reading in advance.
You will be asked to tell an impromptu story using one line of dialogue that will be given to you in your audition. You cannot prepare in advance for telling this story.
Perusal copies of the script are available from the GPLT Box Office for a $5 refundable deposit.
