Description
Back on the GPLT stage on February 2, 2025 @ 7:30 pm is Grande Prairie’s own Gaelan Sterr. Having played the piano since childhood, Gaelan has discovered his own musical niche in his ragtime and indie piano compositions. Inspired by renowned composers such as Scott Joplin and Joe Hisaishi, Gaelan takes his audience on a musical journey that is both comical and inspiring. For tonight’s show, he is proud to present some of his piano arrangements from his repertoire of reimagined gospel hymns as well as other favorites.
Join Gaelan and his friends for a special evening as they present a unique combination of musical ideas, stories, and community connection.
Joining Gaelan on the stage will be special guests Beardy & The Crosswalk Man! Local artists Olivier Plante and Mike Bourget come together in this duo to bring you a musical experience of inspiring indie folk.
Olivier is a singer-songwriter, poet, aspiring author, and entrepreneur from Sexsmith, Alberta. His inspirations include The Gray Havens, Andrew Peterson, and The Arcadian Wild. Olivier has previously staged his very own concert and has recorded his first single which is available on most streaming platforms. Warming the hearts of his audience through poetic story in song and word is where Olivier truly shines.
Mike is a multi-instrumentalist and writer originally from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Besides playing a variety of instruments, he loves to express himself through wordcraft in his writings, poetry, and song lyrics. Taking inspiration from bands such as The Gray Havens, Relient K, and Red, Mike writes passionately about the struggles and realities of life and family. When not spending time sharing music with family and friends, Mike has been seen hosting various coffee houses and arts events catered to helping emerging artists in taking their first steps.
Olivier and Mike are co-founders of Room 45-1, a nonprofit that is focused on welcoming and connecting people from the church and community through the arts. Beginning with the aim of creating a strong and welcoming community around literary arts, they have expanded into visual arts and music as well. They have a strong presence both locally and abroad through their Facebook page, website, and magazine. They also recently opened a café right here in Grande Prairie.
