GPLT brings The Children’s Hour by Lillian Hellman to life from February 22 to March 10.

This play is so full of raw human emotion and turmoil that it was banned in Boston, Chicago and throughout the whole of Great Britain after it’s successful run on Broadway in 1934. This play is still topical today,

Set in a fictional New England town in the 1930s, The Children’s Hour tells the story of two women who are unjustly accused of homosexual activity by one of their students. Their lives quickly unravel as they become social pariahs. The Children’s Hour explores the way mass psychology can be manipulated to serve falsehood.

Wade Fleming is the Director.
