Amy Retzlaff rejoins us to direct the youth show after her success directorial debut last year for James and the Giant Peach. She will be joined by Clay Wyght as assistant director.
This serious drama provides a meatier source of roles for young people and deal with issues that may be more relevant to them than what has typically been offered in the Family play.
When abusive behaviour surfaces in the lives of four friends, the teenagers are forced to examine how learned behaviour can be mirrored by victims and home situations reflected in the school until, finally, the choice to break the damaging cycles is made. Maggie’s in love with Bob, Bob’s in love with Sarah, Sarah’s in love with Luke, Luke beats on Sarah. Through it all, we see their parents as giant shadows that loom over their lives.
